Causes
The financial crisis currently dominates the economic and political agenda. Many credit institutions and insurance companies face major challenges of an unprecedented scale and have to make intensive efforts to cope with the global crisis and its consequences in the foreseeable future. Depending on their business model and risk appetite, the implications faced by financial institutions vary in severity. Thus, it is recommendable for each bank to perform a systematic review of all individual aspects in order to identify the specific need for action in each individual case. Actions may be required both at the bank-wide level and at the sub-bank levels (sales, production and control bank).
